The CPOM certification traces its roots back to 2003, when TERRAPIN Group LLC worked with Academy officials to restructure Principal Protection Training at the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy in London, Ohio.
Over the years, the presentation of the material took different formats in order to conform to budget and consumer requirements. However, the program generally consisted of Level I and Level II modular programs of 40 hours each.
These programs focused on the core knowledge and skills required for protective operations.
